storyboard

My storyboard was detailed and well organised. I think it could have been improved if we had more time to complete. I Could have used a platform to do it instead of using paper, like Miro. If I were to do this again, I would use a Miro template, have more time to think about it and be a lot neater when creating it so it can be understood clearly.

Nasa poster

I really enjoyed making these posters, they were simple to do and Introduced me to typography. The bottom one was done by following instructions and the top one was independent. I struggled to follow the complete instructions as I kept messing up. I think next time I should add more things to the bottom as it’s slightly simple, nothing stands out apart from the Word explore.

Product Photography

My product photography went really well, I enjoyed taking the photos and making them into product posters in photoshop. when taking the photos, I think if I had a plan before going in on what I wanted to do because most of the limited time we had, I was thinking of what to do with the items we had. I think if I were to do this again it would go better as I’ve had more experience with the lights and the set up. The black out sheet wasn’t ironed so we had to keep straightening it out every time we switched item.

Chess footage

My chess footage was an enjoyable experience as I used different equipment and a different type of camera that I have not used before. Some things did not work out as well as I hoped. When we looked at the footage as a group, I noticed it was not as good as it could have been. I was acting in the footage, so I did not get a chance to film anyone, but I think next time using a film camera, I need to focus on quality.

Chess EDit

My chess edit went well for the first time doing it. I think if we used people who were more comfortable in front of a camera then it would’ve been a better experience. I am more comfortable behind the camera but I had to be in the shot. I think next time, it would go a lot better as we’ve had experience with the camera and tripods. Next time I think we could have improved the quality. We wasted a lot of our time with finding actors to be in our edit. So I think next time we need to be more organised with what everyone’s job is. The editing was simple and wasn’t too complicated. I struggled finding a sound to match as well as muting my clip.

AE work

My after effects work wasn’t as easy as I thought. I struggled with the layout of after effects and how everything worked. I had a video to follow but even after watching it over and over again it was hard to make sure I followed it completely. I think next time I would go through the instruction video bit by bit to make sure i was following it completely.

I really enjoyed making these posters. It expanded my knowledge in typography and photoshop. This was very similar to the NASA posters. I think next time I should experiment with my own images. I think the only thing that needs improving is the text, i think it should be bigger and stand out more.

Photo bashing

My photo bashing was quite easy and it expanded my knowledge in photoshop. The only thing I would change would be adding more photos do it. I was struggling on what to put in and how to make it look natural. I think next time I need to look at more ideas and go off that with my photos or copyright free photos.

Holiday task

Questionnaire – In groups, We created a questionnaire on peoples opinion of what they want in a holiday. We sent our questionnaire to our general chat in our teams for our class mates and lecturers to do. We also sent it to friends and family. We had 23 Responses. 16 people preferred to go to a hot country, 20 people wanted to travel by plane, 13 people wanted to stay in a hotel and 9 people wanted to stay in a villa, 16 People preferred to stay in all inclusive and most of the people in the questionnaire said a 4 star rating for accommodation.

Focus group – With one other group, we asked questions to the group about holidays and how they enjoy them. we asked many questions and Everyone wanted something different. We recorded our focus group on a voice recording as some people weren’t comfortable with using video. We focused on getting qualitative data instead quantitative data. Everyone’s data was very different from each other so it was hard to compare them together.
