For the seven deadly sins project that we were assigned. I did the sin wrath in photography. At the research phase of the project, I researched all the sins and tried to find examples in photography. At the start, I wanted to do them all but I thought it would’ve made it a lot more difficult so I narrowed it down to Wrath. I researched Each sin and wrote a little explanation into them, I researched Wrath into more detail.
I also researched into portrait photography since I’ve never done it before and i wanted some ideas on how to set up lights and what lenses would be best. Therefore It developed my knowledge into portraiture. Throughout the project, I kept looking for inspiration for wrath and anger and made mood boards on Pinterest to help me get an idea of what I wanted.
The outcome of the project was six images with a soundtrack that goes with it. I wanted to represent what goes on in a teenagers mind through anger. At the start of the project, I didn’t have much faith in it. I was very stressed with all the research that had to be done and planning. I was worrying at the fact I’ve never done portrait and I didn’t know what to expect.
When the project was completed, I felt very happy with what I produced. As I never did it before, I think it turned out better than I expected it to. The only issue with a few images is that they were out of focus. It was quite difficult to keep into focus as my model kept moving. The good points for the project were that the research went well, The photoshoot went well and the editing went well. I had some difficulties, These were the quality of my images decayed a bit when I sent them on teams and I had an issue finding a model who was willing to help me.
My intentions for the audio were that i wanted a music piece that could go along with my images. I choose a horror genre so i tried my best to represent a scary music to go on top. This helped the audience help connect to my images in an artist way. I edited using audition to create a sound with a mixture of sounds from Free Sound. if i were to do this project again, I would spend and plan more of my sound as i came into a few issues. These were the sound dropped out at a certain point, when we were getting feedback and how i struggled to found a sound effect i liked and that went with the images. v
I would rate the final piece good as I am quite impressed with the outcome on my first time. My target market is our age so 16-18 so I think it would appeal a lot as it’s for them and Its what teenagers go through and feel. I think my skills has improved since now i know how to do portraiture.
My meaning behind my images are what goes on in a teenagers mind and I think that got across. The feedback I got back from my peers were that, The audio deeps out at the end so they told me to improve that and how some of the images are slightly out of focus. In the future, I would try be as still as possible so they are in focus, get the research done as soon as possible so I have more time to prepare for the shoot and spend more time on audio.
